About VICAN

Three Decades of Aluminum Excellence

VICAN Combustion is an aluminum foundry born in Torreón, Coahuila in 1993 — originally founded as DME Castings with just three employees dedicated to pattern making and tooling for the foundry industry.

Within two years we were producing aluminum castings for major Mexican manufacturers, and by 1996 we began exporting to industrial customers in the United States. Today VICAN supplies precision aluminum components to international companies in the automotive and hydraulic sectors across North America.

Our proximity to the U.S. border — minutes from key crossings at Laredo and El Paso, Texas — enables fast turnaround and reliable delivery to customers throughout the United States and Canada, making us a strategic near-shoring partner.

From melting and degassing to machining and finishing — a vertically integrated operation specializing in 356, 319 and other aluminum alloys.

Melting & Degassing

Two LP-gas fired furnaces with 400 lb/hr melting capacity. Argon degassing equipment for clean, porosity-free aluminum.

Green Sand Casting

Casting capacity up to 800 lb (363 kg). Wood and aluminum integral plates with two squeeze molding machines (24" × 24").

Permanent Mold

Two molding presses for parts up to 112 lb (51 kg). H13 steel and cast iron tooling. One piece every 5 minutes.

Shell Molding

Carrousel-driven shell molding machine. Maximum part weight 112 lb (51 kg). Mold dimensions up to 25" × 25" × 10".

Tooling & Engineering

In-house engineering with AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Custom tooling design for green sand, shell and permanent mold processes.

CNC Machining

3 lathes (24", 18", 8"), 12" CNC lathe, 4-axis CNC machining center (70 cm × 1.30 m), milling and 30-ton hydraulic press.

Spectrometer for chemical analysis, microscope, hardness tester and universal testing machine. Full metallurgical control.

Shell Molding
